Traditional financial institutions often fail smallholder farmers due to high transaction costs, lack of physical infrastructure, and strict collateral requirements. This study investigates how expanding fintech ecosystem services—moving beyond digital payments into mobile-based agricultural credit, savings, and insurance—can fund agricultural expansion. Using a mixed-methods approach, data was collected from 400 smallholder farmers across agricultural corridors using mobile money platforms. A structural equation modeling approach evaluated the impact of mobile credit and micro-insurance on farm size expansion and crop yield. The results show that access to mobile-integrated credit significantly increases agricultural investment and land cultivation. Furthermore, mobile micro-insurance mitigates weather-related risks, encouraging farmers to adopt high-yield inputs. The study concludes that deepening fintech services past basic payment remittances creates a reliable mechanism for rural capital accumulation.
